Saving new data

SiriusWB is designed to access data saved in your Workbench account. However, you can also use it to conveniently upload new structures and sequences. This is accomplished using the save feature.

You can save any data that can be loaded by SiriusWB: structures that came from the Protein Data Bank, local files or created within the SiriusWB workspace. The latter case includes sequences pasted into the New sequence dialog of the Sequence Viewer, or structures built using the fragment library of the Builder. In addition, you can edit existing structures or sequences and save the results in your account.

First, select menu option Save in WB account... from the File menu. Then choose which entry you wish to save. The pulldown menu will show all currently loaded entries, both structures and sequences. Keep in mind that sequence alignments are listed as one entry, even though individual sequences can be removed.

Next, make sure that the correct entity type is selected: protein or nucleic acid. Then enter the name for the new data item. By default, it's the name of the loaded entry, but you are free to edit it to whatever you like.

Finally, you must specify folder under which the new data item should be saved. Click Save, and the new entry will be created in your Workbench account.
