This section holds the following subdirectories:
	- cipres: corba/perl implementation of cipres idls (mostly autogenerated stubs)
	- cope: corba/perl libraries (orb, etc.)
	- phylo: perl-ish set of libraries for handling trees, taxa and matrices
	- exception: the Experimental::Exception dependency for cope
	- doc: autogenerated documentation
Dependencies:
	- if perl prerequisites aren't met, the Makefile.PL config scripts will complain
	- you'll need a copy of irserv, the orbacus idl compiler (http://www.orbacus.com)
	  (but see /framework/perl/cope/compat)
